Do you have any idea that you beloved Thanksgivings turkey's feathers are plucked before the are even killed and frozen for you dining delight and that during this time the birds are left to suffer for at times up to days until at least put out of their misery and put on your table? The theory being that if their feathers are plucked while they are alive that the quills and feathers themselves are stronger and more life like. This is sick that human beings feel so privileged to be able to do this to another living organism which tests have proven are able to suffer pain and suffering. I hope you choke on your next turkey leg for awhile so that perhaps you can experience just a tenth of the needless torture and pain these poor animals are forced to endure. If you research further you will find too that the plumes Athena so proudly displays are from turkeys specifically bred to have their feathers rips out for decorative purposes...not to provide sustenace for life like you find on Indian headresses. Our forefathers only killed to live themselves....and not for pure decoration. This is sick and should not be condoned.

I'm a costume Major trying to break into movie costumes. I use silk, feathers, fur, leather and even animal bones on a daily basis.
Frankly I don't care what you think about my feathers. The ability to make wings is a valuable skill in my field so I taught myself how to do it. Earlier today I was doing Leather working for a Film.
Not everyone holds to your idealist beliefs that dead animal parts cannot be used for decoration, art or even car seats.
In fact why don't you check out this costume where I used real cow bones! <3

What's with all the profession costume designer's multiple entries on this site, ie yours? Can you find no better ways to market yourself/feed your ego? How many entries do you have on here? Get a life.
Although I don't necessarily agree with PETA's comments. You apparently have a whole other set of issues you are dealing with.
This is a site which sells it owns costumes and sponsors an amateur contest to get people to buy its costumes/get people to its site. You are so lame, however, you have to get on here to market your own site. Why don't you just sponsor your own contest on your own site to showcase your costumes instead of being a parasite on someone else's website...and shamelessly self voting to even try to win the prize yourself. Sponsor your own contest on your own site you loser and give away your own prize. You are pathetic.

I'm a student people! Everything I entered was made by me for my own personal use as a STUDENT. I didn't enter to promote myself, I can do that fine on my own. I entered for the chance to win $$$ because I'm a poor collage student who struggles make ends meet each month.
You think Photography or Art students don't enter online contests to try and win money? Think again. Just because I study costuming doesn't mean I own a company (W T f Guys?)
Also I'm far to busy to take the time to vote for myself. I've been pulling back to back 12 hours days on set (of a STUDENT film)

So how many is it? I also checked out your website (yeah so your site got a hit off me...WooHoo) which lists your costumes for consignment and other events so yes in my opinion, and obviously several others, you are a professional who entered into this amateur Halloween contest and are competing in an amateur contest. You should really consult your PR person for a better way to publicize yourself. As to not having enough time to vote for yourself? Yeah right was RIGHT...you have had enough time to enter as least 10 entries. You have plenty of time. Don't you feel the slighest bit silly? Wow, you are the most pathetic costume designer I have ever encountered. Who would want to buy your costumes after knowing how much of a cheater you are. Its a Halloween costume contest, not a designer contest. It would be different if you entered ONE costume and DIDN'T VOTE FOR YOURSELF.
